24 3/4in. monobloc barrels (recent Cologne proof) with raised matt top-rib housing the .22 Hornet barrel, folding open-sights, ramped bead fore-sight, the breech end mounted with a Carl Zeiss Zielsechs telescopic sight, serial no. 55730, in quickly-detachable mounts, gold-washed extractor, the front lump finely carved and gold-inlaid with a monogram 'SM', the 16-bore shot barrels with 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, bolstered rounded bar action with carved percussion fences, sidelever opening, toplever shot / ball selector switch, rebounding back-action locks, gold-washed set triggers, the .22 Hornet firing pin with gold-washed removable striker disc, finely chequered standing breech, fine Germanic scroll engraving with game scenes of running hare, fox chasing duck, rutting stag and a family of roe deer, the triggerguard with a capercaillie, 14 3/8in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, pistolgrip-cap engraved with scrolls and a brace of pigeon, hinged ammunition trap engraved with scrolls and partridge, horn buttplate, weight 7lb. 9oz. (unscoped) and 8lb. 12oz. (with scope)
